A few weeks ago we made it possible to upload your episode video to PodGlue.
There was a catch. The limit was 500MB.
That sounds like a lot until you look at a real recording. My sessions run 2.5 to 3GB for 30 to 40 minutes. A 90-minute episode is around 7GB. Almost nothing I record would have fit.
So we fixed it.
What changed
You can now upload video files up to 20GB from Import Episodes.
The file goes up in small pieces, several at a time. If one piece has a hiccup, only that piece tries again. You watch one progress bar either way.
I tested it with a 41-minute recording, 1.87GB. It uploaded in about three and a half minutes. The episode was there when it finished, and the video played and jumped to any point instantly.
When the upload gets interrupted
This is the part I care about most.
Large uploads get interrupted. The Wi-Fi drops. The laptop goes to sleep. You close the wrong tab.
Before, that meant starting over. Now it doesn't. Drop the same file in again and PodGlue picks up where it stopped. The pieces that already made it stay, and only the rest goes up.
On a 7GB file, that's the difference between trying again and giving up.
What's next
Big uploads were the first step toward something bigger: editing your episode inside PodGlue by editing its transcript. Delete a sentence, and the video cuts with it.
That needs the whole recording in PodGlue first. Now it can be.
Your recording is the thing you made. It shouldn't be too big to bring home.
Don’t just read the build. Shape it.
PodGlue is built from conversations with hosts, guests, producers, and agencies doing the work. What does Upload the Whole Episode: Video Files Up to 20GB, and They Pick Up Where They Left Off look like in your workflow?

The PodGlue Phone App Was Quietly Wrong. Here's What I Fixed.
I went through PodGlue's iPhone app next to the web app and found a handful of things that looked fine and weren't. None of them showed an error. That was the problem.
Why Studio Is Now a Beta Feature You Ask For
PodGlue's recording Studio and hosted feeds are the newest parts of the product. Instead of pretending they're finished, we've put them in a Beta Features section you opt into.
