Edit Anywhere, Land in PodGlue: Your AI Assistant Can Now Add Episodes
By Junaid Ahmed
I recorded the trailer for my new show, A Seeker's Guide to the 99 Beautiful Names of Allah, and wanted to clean it up.
A false start at the top. A line I misread and then said correctly. A stumble or two. Normal stuff.
I did the edit by working through the transcript with my AI assistant. That part went quickly.
Then came the part nobody talks about.
The last step was the hardest
The finished video had to get back into PodGlue.
That meant downloading an 87MB file, finding it in a folder, and dragging it onto the import screen. My assistant could do every step of the edit, but it couldn't do that one. A drag and drop needs a person.
It's a small thing. It's also exactly where work stalls. The edit is done, the file sits in Downloads, and the episode never quite makes it to the show.
So we fixed it.
What you can do now
If you use an AI assistant that connects to PodGlue, it can now add an episode to your show from a link.
Give it the link to a finished video. MP4, MOV or WebM, up to 500MB. It could be an export from your editor, or a file in your cloud storage with a public link.
PodGlue copies the video into your show, creates the episode as a draft, and starts the transcript on its own. Full episode, trailer or bonus: you say which.
It never publishes. The episode waits for you, like anything else you import.
You decide who gets to do this
Most of the time, you want your assistant to read your show, not change it.
So this is off unless you turn it on. When you create a connection token in Settings, there's a new box: Allow this agent to add episodes. Leave it unchecked and the assistant can look but not add. Every token you already made stays exactly as it was.
That felt like the right line. Adding a draft is easy to undo. Publishing isn't, so that stays with you.
What's next
Right now it's video only. Audio is next.
After that, I want the editing itself to live in PodGlue: open your episode, read the transcript, and cut the parts you don't want, right there. Editing the trailer taught me a lot about what that should look like, including the parts a one-click tool gets wrong.
The episode you recorded is the thing that matters. The tools around it should get out of its way.
If you already use an AI assistant with PodGlue, make a new token with that box checked and hand it your next finished episode.
Don’t just read the build. Shape it.
PodGlue is built from conversations with hosts, guests, producers, and agencies doing the work. What does Edit Anywhere, Land in PodGlue: Your AI Assistant Can Now Add Episodes look like in your workflow?
